RECOVERY RESIDENCE (ASAM Level III.I):
Clients in the Recovery Residence (half-way house) live in a
supportive alcohol/drug free environment in a community
setting. A Residential Manager is available to supervise
various house activities. An integral part of the Recovery
Residence is community living. The client's acceptance of
responsibility for day to day living with other residents as
well as participation in activities of the residence is seen as
a major part of the treatment milieu. All clients attend the
Primary Care Program at Primary Purpose and, following
completion of the Residential Component, are required to
participate in the Aftercare Program for a minimum of nine
months. Continuation of a structured program allows the client
the opportunity to discuss and handle problems encountered
during re-entry into society as a person free of mood altering
substances. The cost of the Recovery Residence includes program
fees, housing, utilities and the treatment program (Phases
I V).
INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM (ASAM
Level II.I): The Primary Care Program is a multi-phase program
with emphasis on small group process, relapse prevention and
aftercare planning. Clients are required to attend regular
12-step meetings in the community and to complete a set of
written assignments based on the 12-step programs. All clients
participate in the development of an individualized treatment
plan to address specific needs as identified during the initial
assessment. Following successful completion of the outpatient
program the client is required to attend the Aftercare Program
(Phase VI) one time per week for a minimum of nine months.
Nursing and psychiatric assessments are available on site (on an
as needed basis) at a reduced cost for clients enrolled in the
level II.I program.
AFTERCARE PROGRAM (Phase VI): This
Program is required for all clients who have completed the
Primary Care program at Primary Purpose. The Aftercare Program
(Phase VI) clients meet one time per week for a minimum of nine
months (39 weeks).
ADDICTION AWARENESS PROGRAM (ASAM
Level I): The Addiction Awareness Program is an intervention
program designed to address lifestyle, attitudinal and
behavioral issues of those individuals who have a history of
Substance Abuse but do not meet the clinical criteria for
Chemical Dependency. This program meets the ASAM Level 1
Placement criteria required for driver's license reinstatement
by the Georgia Department of Human Resources but is also
appropriate for individuals with other substance related
disorders who are not currently in need of a more intensive,
long term alcohol and drug treatment program.
EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT: A
Psychosocial assessment precedes entry into the Primary Care
Program. Clients who are mandated by the Court, or those
referred by attorneys on a pre-trial basis, can be provided a
written report including counseling and/or alternative
sentencing recommendations.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/ANGER MANAGEMENT
PROGRAM: The purpose of this program is to eliminate physical
and emotional abuse. Secondarily, it is to assist the offender
in the recognition and elimination of distorted thinking which
has led to abusive behavior. This program assists the client in
recognizing the consequences of his anger and violent behaviors
toward his victims, himself and his community. Clients involved
in the Domestic Violence program attend once weekly group
counseling sessions for six months. The program includes an
eight week component designed to educate the individual on
Substance Abuse and Addiction and assists him in recognizing the
link between alcohol/drug use and violence. The Domestic
Violence Program is operated by Genesis 8, LLC and is certified
by the Georgia Commission on Family Violence.
ELECTRONIC MONITORING: Primary
Purpose is able to accommodate the use of an electronic
monitoring device in the recovery residence for those clients
whose legal situation may require a higher level of supervision.
JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE: Primary
Purpose actively seeks and cultivates employment referrals
through local companies and temporary agencies, however, we
cannot and do not guarantee employment.
